Jeju Pre-wedding | Lawrence & Jennifer

At the end of March, I captured Lawrence and Jennifer’s Jeju pre-wedding session down in Jungmun.

Their love for each other shined throughout the shoot and we ended up with many great images at the end of the day.

The theme for this loving couple from Hong Kong’s Jeju pre-wedding shoot was flowers and nature, and despite the fact that the cherry blossom trees in Jungmun were not in full bloom, we managed to get some quality shots with flowers and in nature.

We started off at the Jungmun Log Pension Resort, which was Lawrence and Jennifer’s accommodation. I had scouted the resort earlier and the colourful cabins and gardens within proved to make for some nice scenery to begin the shoot. I specifically used the lavender flowers and bamboo shoots to create a clean, natural background for several shots.

We then proceeded to the Bophwasa Temple nearby which proved to be another natural and quiet location without any other tourists. We shot under a beautiful flowering magnolia tree and then within canola flowers.

It was a little disappointing that the cherry blossoms were only slightly in bloom, but we made the most of the main Cheonjeyeon-ro road (named for the nearby Cheonjeyeon waterfall) that traverses through Jungmun town, capturing a few shots under the cherry blossom-lined street. A blue church nearby was an amazing bonus location that randomly caught my eye as we passed it.

Next, the brilliant yellow canola fields and the area near the ICC (International Convention Center) were ripe for photo opportunities. I even managed to find a single cherry blossom tree in bloom to get shots with.

We headed back to Lawrence and Jennifer’s pension so they could change clothes, and then drove to the Hyatt Regency hotel so we could get shots along the coast and down on Jungmun Saekdal beach. It was unfortunate that the sky was cloudless and a bit hazy, but nevertheless, we managed to get some dramatic shots with Jeju’s iconic volcanic rocks on the beach.

Again, I am loving your couple photography! Such beautiful images! My favorite include the bamboo and canola fields! I also like that blue wall you had Lawrence stand in front of! This was the perfect time of year to take those photos! Since we don’t have a personal photographer (well Scott kind of is) we set up our tripod and take our own couple images, these photos make me want to go out this weekend and get some cool nature shots! Thanks for sharing Eric!

What a beautiful session! Love the locations and the fact that you’re not afraid to shoot during the brightest part of the day! Did you/Do you use an assistant by chance?

Oh wow, what a creative and beautiful shoot! It’s so great that you were able to scout/know such beautiful locations for this pre-wedding shoot. You obviously put a lot of care and planning into this shoot and it shines through every photo. This couple is lucky to have had their photos done by such a talented photographer, and these pictures will probably be on display for years to come in their home.

    Hi Eric!
What lovely photographs. I thought that you did an amazing job, creating such diverse looks throughout the shoot. I loved the blue wall and thought it created such a unique background from the rest of your photographs. Spring is such a beautiful time here in Korea!
Lawrence & Jennifer looked like dream clients, and you created beautiful images for them. Well done!

All these photos are simply stunning. I liked all of them except for the walking across the street one. I didn’t like the cars and people in the background, but other than that, it was amazing. Jeju’s flowers always look so delicate to me. I would love to take lessons from you on photography.

What a lovely couple! I really love that photo of them crossing the road – it’s a great candid-looking moment and I love the happiness on their faces. Beautiful photos – you captured their love in a great way!

I love the photo of them seemingly veiled by those brown tall weeds. Lovely photos you have! I do agree that you have made a good collection for them and in different settings, too. Great job!
